Mufflers ! they look pretty when you wear them and they also are very easy to carry but is it easy to make them?
So as one of my textile articles we were given task to make a muffler with a hand loom. the process starts with "taana".
taana is t put all you desired colors in a particular patterns into a wooden frame. this also carries along with planning about the intervals you need between the different colored wool. taana is then taken forward and put into the hand loom machine. i had 120 strings in total and each sting had to be passed through a wire placed in the machine this process of putting each thread through the hooped wired and then passing it through a passage that has a gap of less then half a centimeter is called "baana"!
baana as a process doesn't end here ... it continues, after this process in the muffler making work one has to rap different colored thread around the placed strings of wool this is also supported with the moment of our foot which is to press the wooden sticks placed below after every new string.
the entire process has been displayed by the pictures.
FINALLY you see a muffler coming your way. yes, this method is difficult to do at first but it also created very nice patters! you are allowed to make desired patters with the help of the machine by changing the number of wool strings in the "baana" This is what my muffler finally looked like when i finished the entire process of "taana" and "baana"!
i ho[e that this experience also encourages you to try new and a different things in the field of arts other then the general "canvas painting "
Thank You
